The Caribbean Seas are home to one of the many coral reefs that houses thousands of aquatic species. These Caribbean reefs also provide numerous benefits to nearby human communities including fisheries for food supplies and livelihood, and for tourism. However over the past centuries, the coral reefs have became more vulnerable caused by pollution, overfishing, diseases, and ocean acidification. As a consequence, Caribbean coral reefs have suffered massive deterioration in terms of overall reef ecosystem health and the productivity of reef fisheries.
